Flames 4, Kings 3 (SO)

Apr

Sean Monahan scored his 21st goal of the year and also the shootout winner, which came after the Flames blew a 3-0 lead late in the second period. The Kings scored twice in 29 seconds to eliminate most of the Flames’ surprising outburst. Karri Ramo once again played fantastic, with the exception of those 29 seconds, leading the Flames to their fourth win in a row. Don’t they know that they are just hurting their draft pick situation with every meaningless win?

Here are the records for the bottom 10 teams in the league. Notice anything out of the ordinary? I guess Ottawa has won a couple, but the Flames four wins has moved them past the Islanders and they are more likely to pass Carolina in the standings than be caught by the Isle.

 TORONTO - LOST 2

 NASHVILLE – OT 1

 OTTAWA – WON 2

 VANCOUVER – LOST 1

 WINNIPEG – LOST 1

 CAROLINA – LOST 2

 CALGARY – WON 4

 NY ISLANDERS – LOST 2

 EDMONTON – LOST 1

 FLORIDA – LOST 1

 BUFFALO – LOST 4
