Flames 3, Sabres 1

19 Mar

Well it took a while to get going, as two of the worst teams in the NHL fumbled their way through an AHL-esque first period.

Just when it looked like Buffalo was going to lull the Flames to sleep and a 1-0 loss, Calgary scored late in the second to tie the game. Then they came out much stronger in the third, including a short-handed goal by Byron which brings the Flames to a league-leading 12 in that category.

Who’s to say that if the second disallowed goal by the Sabres would have counted, Calgary would probably have been shut out last night. Three cheers for borderline goalie interference calls!
