Penguins 4, Flames 3

22 Dec

The Pens were up by three late in the second period, and the Flames made it interesting by pulling to within one with nearly a full period left to tie the game. That wasn’t meant to be though, and Calgary ends up losing another one-goal game and dropping to one game under .500 on this five-game road trip.

Curtis Glencross left early in the first period, injuring his left knee after an awkward fall into the boards. Glencross, who needed assistance to the dressing room, remained on the ice until the whistle, but couldn’t put weight on his leg. Flames defenceman Kris Russell, playing in his 400th career game, also left in the third period with a leg injury.

The Flames have lost four straight and six of their last nine. However they are still seven points up on the hapless Edmonton Oilers.
