Even though I’m all about the losses this year, the game against LA was a great win. After being thoroughly beat in front of their fathers in Anaheim, Calgary held their own against a big and talented Kings club.
The highlight of the game was in the middle of a 5-minute major penalty kill, when Blair Jones and Paul Byron connected on a shorthanded goal that looked like it might hold up as the only goal of the game. Check it out, it’s awesome.
After the Kings came back to tie it in the third, the Flames really played their best. On the last shift of the game Michael Cammalleri out-deked half of Los Angeles and managed to score the winner with just 18 seconds to go. Great win Calgary.
