This was a fun game to watch with a lot of in-game story lines.
Reto Berra stood on his head (actually flopped around a lot) to keep the game tied at zeros through the first period. As any Flames fan will know, the first is when we like to spot our opponents a two-goal lead. Berra stopped 43 of 47 Winnipeg shots over the course of the night.
There were goals, eight of them, through regulation. The Flames had (read: blew) leads of 1-0, 2-1, 3-2 and 4-3. The Jets scored with just 5 seconds left in the game to send the game to OT.
The game went to the eighth round of the shootout, and my PVR recorded just until the end of the overtime. So I missed it. But I heard Sean Monahan scored the winner, nice.
And finally Calgary snaps a six-game losing streak. As far as efforts to make it to the bottom of the league, the past two weeks have been admirable.
Next up? The powerhouse that is the Columbus Blue Jackets.
