Flames trade fourth-round pick to the Leafs for centre Joe Colborne

30 Sep

Says Burke: “Joe is a Calgary kid. He’s a very intelligent kid. He has been unable to crack the top six group in an NHL lineup despite the face that he’s almost 23 and a first round pick. He’s 6’5”, he has a high hockey IQ, and he can skate.”

So we get ourselves another 3rd-liner?? Awesome!

A first-round draft pick in 2008 — going 16th overall, one spot behind Ottawa Senators defenceman Erik Karlsson, and six spots ahead of Edmonton Oilers forward Jordan Eberle — Colborne is the lanky (6-foot-5, 213 pounds) centre the Leafs acquired from the Boston Bruins in exchange for Tomas Kaberle two years ago.
