Canucks 4 – Flames 1

11 Apr

The Flames played a solid 53 minutes against Vancouver, then Kiprusoff kind of fell apart (again). Calgary outshot Vancouver 18-9 in the third period and was outscored 3-0 in the same period. You read that right, when the game was on the line — tied 1-1 in the third period — the Flames skaters did everything they could getting 18 shots on Luongo while Kipper at the other end gave up 3 goals on 9 shots.

You’re not going to win with goaltending like that.

Or maybe it’s just a strategy for better odds at getting Seth Jones. Calgary is once again one point ahead of last place. One can only dream I guess.

“Portland Winterhawks defenseman Seth Jones holds down the top spot in the ISS rankings. Sitting in second for the second consecutive month is Russian forward Valery Nichushkin. The two Halifax Mooseheads’ forwards, Nathan MacKinnon and Jonathan Drouin, hold the third and fourth slots while Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds’ defender Darnell Nurse hangs onto the fifth position.”
