There were a lot of storylines from this game, but the most important one was this: if the Flames beat L.A., they’d move within one point of a playoff spot.
And they did not.
They tried hard in the first period, but since they didn’t score they seemed to give up after that. Even though they really wanted to get Brent the win over his brother, and Cammalleri a win in his first game back (he scored), they just couldn’t solve Jonathan Quick.
The one positive (if you can call it that) is that Calgary played better in this game than they had in the previous two games. However they won the previous two games, so what does that tell you?
