Flames 1 – Ducks 0, Rene Bourque traded for Mike Cammalleri

13 Jan

First of all, this game was probably one of the most boring games I’ve watched in a long time. Even thought Kipper got a shutout, and the Flames won in overtime. Mark Giordano returned after missing 21 games, assisted on Blair Jones’s first goal as a Flame, which was good to see. Gio also played over 21 minutes in his first game back.

But the game was overshadowed by the news that Mike Cammalleri was traded back to Calgary from Montreal in exchange for Rene Bourque. While it is sad to see Bourque go, this deal was pretty good for the Flames.

Here is the line from TSN: “Montreal traded Cammalleri, as well as goaltender Karri Ramo and fifth round pick in the 2012 NHL Draft to the Calgary Flames for  forwards Rene Bourque, Patrick Holland a second round pick in 2013.
