It’s rare that an individual’s milestone outweighs the two points for the win. But this was one of those times. Along with 1000 points, 500 goals, 50-in-50, and when (if) someone scores 93 goals… or 77 goals as a rookie.
Craig Conroy put it best, “Just 500, it’s hard to imagine. Even if you have 10 50-goal seasons, that’s amazing. You’ve got to figure it’s going to be a long time before the next guy does it. Maybe people will appreciate it more [down the road].”
It wasn’t pretty, but I’m sure he is glad to get these bounces…
