This game kind of went like this… Minnesota had a great first shift, then Calgary turned it on for about 5 minutes, then a whole lot of nothing happened and then the game was over. That’s not entirely true, because Jackman had his clock cleaned early, but Kostopoulos made up for it later on by leveling Clayton Stoner with a right. That was the excitement for the night.
In other news, it looks like Matt Stajan could be out awhile with a high ankle sprain; Mark Giordano is close to returning, likely sometime on the 7-game road trip; Mikael Backlund had a whale of a game, and almost a fight with notorious tough-guy Matt Cullen; and the Flames are unbeaten this season in games where Rene Bourque is suspended.
Is it just me (and the two other Flames fans I know to exist) but has Calgary seemed overly uninspired lately? Perhaps we’ve gone from in Sutter we trust to in Sutters we must to with Sutters we lost. The countdown continues, Brent should have been fired 23 days ago.
…and also the line juggling continues (updated Calgary line combos).
…and an injury update for you all.
