I thought that the Flames played pretty well in spite of the final outcome, with the exception of their power-play – which they had a half dozen cracks at. Still no Iginla and now fans are starting to get a little restless, especially when Iggy is historically a slow-starter. Him missing camp isn’t going to help that. Although the word on the street is that he’s okay, just some no-spring-chicken stiffness.
I’m also not too worried about the 1-3 record thus far as I seem to remember doing really well in the pre-season last year and where did that get us? Nowhere, that’s where.
Here are the latest round of cuts. No real surprises, although I know folks were hoping Sven might get a few games in the NHL. Brendan Mikkelson and T.J. Brodie surprised me a little, but mostly because they were sent to the farm this early, with Sarich hurt. I guess that means Carson is your sixth defenceman, and there will be no seventh.
