Flames remain unbeaten – now 6-0

02 Oct

Yes it’s preseason, but it’s always more fun to win than to justify why this and that didn’t really matter. Iggy scored a couple, and T.J. Brodie added another which keeps him in camp for another day. Plus we got to see the second-coming-of-an-Oilers-dynasty lose — and lose badly.

The important part of this game is that both Moss and Kotalik left with injuries. Moss left Rexall with his arm in a sling and Kotalik left with a heavy limp. That leaves the Flames with 12 healthy forwards, not including Bourque and Jokinen who are out day-to-day for maintenance.

It’s Conny’s time to shine on the second line, and Backlund seems to be doing alright on the top line. As long as we keep winning that is.

The final preseason game is on Sunday at 6 – and is free (because we are still in the free-preview zone) on Sportsnet ONE. Enjoy, because the Oilers are after some retribution.
